FAQ

Get quick answers to common pricing queries.

Is there a free tier?
Yes. A free account includes 1,000 ASN/IP lookups and 25 searches per day through the website tools; without an account you get 100 lookups and 10 searches per day per IP. Lookups and searches have separate daily allowances on the same cache-aware, coalesced core as paid plans.
Do I need a paid plan to use the API?
Yes. The programmatic JSON API (api/v1) and API keys are a paid feature — available on Pro and Max. The free and no-account tiers are for using the website's interactive tools (lookups, search, abuse reputation) in the browser; they don't include direct API access.
How is usage measured?
Lookups and searches are metered in two separate daily pools that reset at 00:00 UTC. IP, ASN, and prefix resolution count as lookups; service searches and host/domain/service result views count as searches. Each request is one unit. Cached responses count the same as fresh upstream lookups — there's no surcharge for cache hits — and stats/utility endpoints don't count toward either pool.
What happens when I hit my limit?
Requests over a daily pool return HTTP 429 with X-RateLimit headers showing your limit, remaining, and reset time. The quota frees up at the next 00:00 UTC, or upgrade your plan for a higher daily allowance.
Can I change plans later?
Yes. You can move between Free, Pro, and Max at any time; your daily lookup and search allowances, API access, and API-key limit update immediately to match the new plan.
Do you offer dedicated or on-prem deployment?
Max customers can run the full stack inside their own VPC or data center with private cache tiers, dedicated upstream limits, and an SLA.
